Good for families

Great for visiting Longleat but be prepared for an early start.

Upon arrival we had a friendly greeting and found our way to our choice of pitch quickly. When I went back to inform them of our pitch I was firmly asked to put my mask on as I'd barely stepped in the doorway, my daughter ran out as she thought she was being told off. It was fair enough to tell me to wear a mask but maybe in a less panicked manner, I was after all about 8 metres away and separated by a perspex barrier. It was just a 2 night stay as we were visiting Longleat with the children and the location of this site was perfect. We were advised upon arrival to drive to do our safari and then park the car back here which we did as the park is so close, this made our visit to the park stress free. The facilities were generally good and the were toilets warm and clean. The phone reception was terrible which I didn't really mind however be aware of this if you do need to keep in touch with anyone. No shop either so come prepared. There were lots of children on site with it being half term which was great for our children however there was a larger group of older children about during our stay that gave my son a bit of verbal which took the shine off it for him. Not the club's fault I know but he / we haven't ever experienced this at any site and he spent the evening in rather than playing out after this. My main issue here was the noise in the morning from the service road. Unfortunately we pitched right behind it and from 6.30 each morning for about 1.5 hours there were lorries / tractors etc thundering down it. It was constant and I would imagine this would be every morning of every day. Very frustrating as we came away for a bit of R and R. In between the vehicles however we could here the animals which was lovely . Road noise and sweary teenagers aside this is a nice site and perfect if you are visiting Longleat.
