After a traumatic event on the motorway and a subsequent rescue by the Motorway Patrol and then Green Flag we arrived on site. The deputy and the site wardens were super in helping us to site and offering cups of tea and further help should we require it. They offered help with our holiday bookings etc. They certainly made our stay a memorble time.
We’ve been regulars at the Littlehampton site for the last four years, and it’s always our first choice for visits to see family and friends in West Sussex. The staff are always helpful, welcoming and friendly and we love the location. Littlehampton is a pleasant seaside resort and the site is close to the A27 and great for access to the bustling seaside towns of Worthing and Brighton in one direction and Arundel, Chichester and the Witterings in the other. The site is always well maintained, as is the shower/toilet block. Our unit is 8.8m in length so we have to phone the site to book a pitch but that’s not usually a problem. As it’s an edge-of-town location and close to the main A27 there is inevitably some traffic noise on one side of the site but it never bothers us and we’ve just had a wonderful x6 nights there and would have stayed longer if we hadn’t had to get home for work!
2nd visit to this lovely site. All 4 staff members were lovely. Friendly welcoming and had a laugh.
Site has great clean facilities and maintained to a good standard. Site is well kept and tidy with facilities local to all.
Site in a great locality near the beach. A food van visits the site on a Friday evening and it’s lovely. Friendly, reasonable and freshly cooked! Yum!
Definitely coming here again, highly recommended!
We stayed at this site for 5 nights. It was amazingly peaceful even though we were pitched next to the road, with only the occasional vehicle going by. The site is very well kept and the wardens were friendly and helpful. Nice dog walk. Several nice walks from the site including beaches, coastal walk, the Beacon, St Agnes village. Lovely, lovely site.
Booked this site simply to meet up with family nearby.
It was very busy with only 2 std pitches available both close to the road junction which is relatively noisy.
However after setting up, Pitch 44 we noticed a rather unpleasant smell (eggy, sour milk) on the pitch which was definitely the result of grey waste disposal, although not recent but it had not long rained & the sun had come out which made it more apparent.
It needs investigating as even the membrane beneath the gravel is exposed & torn.
I went & reported it to the warden & requested the non awning pitch opposite if it was not booked out.
Fortunately, it was available for our stay, had it not been, not sure what we would have done.
The team at the site were really excellent. They kept the place clean and tidy and they were all really friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. There have been complaints about noise but we didn't feel that was justified. Yes, the site is close to a road and railway but pitch in a spot away from the road and the noise is not a problem and I have to say I slept well most nights I was there; the only night I did get disturbed was when some very merry guests were roaming the site in the early hours...looking for a dog I think!
When we pitch we like to walk/use public transport or cycle and our only criticism of the location is the site is on a busy main road and as a consequence the walk down into Littlehampton isn't the nicest you'll experience, although it does get better after the roundabout near Morrisons. When in Littlehampton head for the West Beach for peace and quiet and great chips at the cafe near the carpark.
You can walk to Arundel using local footpaths and for those that like swimming there is a heated Lido and of course the castle and a bit further up the river Arun the Black Rabbit, which does a reasonable range of food and drinks. If you don't want to walk you can catch the number 9 bus from just outside the campsite.
After reading some negative reviews, we were concerned about what the site would be like but we had a lovely time.
The site is by a main road and you could definitely hear the traffic but we were pitched away from it so it wasnt as loud as i was expecting. The facilities are what you would expect but there is only one block so you might have to wait at times for showers etc. There is no shop on site which is a shame but there is a Premier in walking distance plus a Morrisons further down the road.
Our only complaint about the site was the noise from other site members. Loud screaming and playing from kids as late as 10 olock at night is a bit wearing. Not much you can do about that tho.
We visited lots of local attractions and loved the area. I can see us returning.
First time here and I must say fantastic! We had a family with no volume control next to us but….that is something out with the clubs remit. The toilets and facilities were as we would expect spotlessly clean, I note the previous review with regards to toilets being closed for cleaning, sorry but the unisex/disable toilets were always open when cleaning and we visited beginning of August. Our pitch was in a position that we could see these toilets open every day while cleaning was taking place so no worries there. A nice stroll to Morrison and if you didn’t wish to walk that far( but it might be far for some) there is a Premier closer. We didn’t think the site was noisy at all for us.
If in the area we would visit again.Nice staff nothing at all to complain about.
We had a lovely break at Littlehampton. We have a motorhome and found an excellent Morrisons only about 10mins walk away which was a huge bonus. We were very worried having read the reviews about noise but it was unfounded. Yes you could hear the road and at times the trains but neither was a problem and we are very fussy about noise. The biggest problem we had with the site was that the toilet/shower block was closed for 1.5 hours every morning for cleaning with no alternative toilet. I know COVID was an issue but no toilet was an issue especially if you did not have your own facilities then you could have a problem. All the sites we have visited previously had an alternative. You can walk from the site into town or to the seafront, it is a couple of miles. We rode our bikes and walked both worked well. The local pub The Six Bells was excellent, good value pub food and only a short walk from the site.
Our stay was from Sunday 18th July 2021 - Friday 23rd July 2021.
This was our first ever trip away in our newly brought caravan, we didn't know what to expect whatsoever but after a few recommendations we chose to book this site for our first 'trial' run. Everything from arrival to departure was perfect we couldn't of asked for a better trip away. The site was spotless! I couldn't fault anything whatsoever! The staff were friendly and attentive. You felt very welcome as soon as you arrived, it was like a home from home! We've never felt so relaxed, we didn't want to go home in the end, but at they say all good things must come to and end however I can promise we will be back in no time! Everyone on the site was so friendly and helped where they could! I've read a lot of reviews on here complaining about the sound of the traffic and noise but I can honestly say I don't agree with that whatsoever. I found it so peaceful and in the evening you could hear a pin drop, it wasn't loud of noisy and that road traffic was not an issue at all. No matter how great you make your site people will always find something to bicker about but from a couple that normally stay in 5* hotels abroad I have no complaints and no faults were found! I wish we would've booked a longer stay! I would recommend this site to everyone, it met and went above and beyond our expectations!
