We used this site as a stop over while on our way further up North. We entirely agree with all the comments about the toilet block but as we read in the visitors book that the site is due a toilet block upgrade so it is in hand & we felt sorry for the wardens who keep the site beautiful despite the old facilities. We pitched in the wooded area which was fine for the two nights we stayed, at least the van was cool for our dog who enjoyed watching all the rabbits & squirrels as his own TV ! We were aware of the factory noise at first but we soon forgot it ( it's a bit like the hum of central heating - we thought ? ) The surrounding area is lovely & we enjoyed walking the dog along the canal & crossing the many viaducts. We would like to come back for longer to explore further & hopefully by then the promised upgrade on the toilet block will be finished.
