we stayed on this site last week, and the warden asked if we had been here before, I replied "no". And that was it end of conversation. Was not told of local attractions directions re walks or nothing. Therefor I don't think I will return.
Very rare that any site, CC or otherwise has been forthcoming with details of what is on in the area unless I have asked. Quite often when booking in on a CC site there is somebody waiting to book in and so if I wanted info I would ask ..... later or look in information room. Generally I prefer to find out myself. If you decide not to return to a site because information was not given on arrival about possible places of interest without asking you are unlikely to return to many sites

If it’s a new site to me I always make a point of returning to reception and seeking their advice on POI and wildlife on the site and have never had a brush off reply. I do wonder why some others appear to have problems with wardens and yet I’ve never had a bad experience with them

Like most members we decide on which site we want to stay on having decided previously on what we want to do in the area, rather than randomly choosing a site and hoping that there is something to do once we arrive on site. All of the sites we have visited have an information room with details of local pubs and attractions. As others have stated, we have found wardens on all sites we have visited very helpful if asked about local attractions, etc. I am sure HB would not be too happy if he was behind a member asking lots of questions whilst wanting to book in himself on a busy day. Common sense says if you want information you pop back at a quieter time. Wardens can't win.
