Run rabbit run
We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour of Wales. It was a beautiful little site. Site access was easy for all vehicle sizes and the pitches were a decent size. Toilet block was a little dated but clean. Site was well kept and the wardens were friendly. Bizarrely, considering the place is running wild with rabbits and squirrels, we met 7 other lurchers whilst out walking with our 2 lurchers. Funny how we all ended up on a site with so many things for them to want to chase. But it just made for a talking point and got us laughing about it. The wildlife certainly did not cause any other problems, just a source of entertainment out of our caravan window. Considering we had just been to another area of Wales that really did have terrible TV reception this site held the TV reception much better than the previous site and WiFi was perfect if you paid for it. There were so many things to see in the locality we could not fit it all in in such a short stay so would love to return but we drove through Llangollen which looked beautiful with its bunting covered streets, boat trips and steam train and the aqueduct walk. We did, however, walk to Chirk Castle from the site which was direct access onto the Castle grounds from just outside the site entrance. It was a wonderful walk and we managed a 5 mile walk around the perimeter of the castle without having to pay any admission fee. It would have been nice if we could have got access to the castle tearooms but you had to pay access to the castle and walled gardens to get to them and, obviously with dogs that are not allowed in any further than the tearoom, that was not really an option. All in all a lovely little site and we would love to return to explore the area more in the future.
