Just back from a few days end of season. We love this site. Yes, its getting a little tired, but it still ticks all the boxes. Chirk Castle is next door. So easy to get to and a wonderful place. Also Erddig and Powis Castle not too far away. Plenty of good places to eat as long as you don't require a Michelin star! The Poachers and The Bridge within easy driving distance, or a walk into Chirk itself to see what's on offer there. The walk from site over the aqueduct is a must if you are able. The views are fantastic and its a lovely ramble down along the river. Rabbits galore on site, so beware of the dreaded rabbit holes, which could easily break your ankle! A torch is essential if visiting the facilities at night. As always, lovely, friendly wardens. As I already said. We love this site.
