Great site
Site is easy to find, but looked on Google Earth in advance.
We were let in early despite it being fairly full and were able to make a choice of pitch.
The site is very large with a couple of small wooded copse like areas.
The toilets are a bit dated and probably too few for the number of pitches, but this did not affect us.
The wardens were excellent and readily printed off directions for a walk to Llangollen. However, if you go out of the site, the same as the way in, you see the canal. Go to the tow path and keep walking. Once over the viaduct (brilliant) there is a spur off to the left over a footbridge. 9 miles later you are there. If you want to cycle then the towpath is excellent.
Also if you go up the road from the site you can visit Chirk castle. With care you can walk around the grounds.
Chirk is a rather small town and consequently there are few supermarkets, the closest is a rather expensive Spar.
If in the area we would go again, as we easily occupied 3 days with walking and cycling.
Children may find it tedious as the play area was rather inadequate, which made it lovely and quiet for the rest of us.
