A wonderful week by the Llangollen Canl
We booked to come here in the first week of the school holidays and were surprised at how peaceful it was.
There is so much to do nearby, we caught the train to Shrewsbury visited the Abbey and took the Prison tour which was very informative. We also visited Chester saw their Roman history and walked the city walls, took a river trip and mooched around the lovely shopping areas. Chester Zoo was a vast are of enclosures with a great monorail to give you overhead views of the animals.
The tow path to Llangollen was an excellent was to cycle or walk the eight miles, across the famous aqueduct, not for the faint hearted. The café on the canal as you reach Llangollen did a wonderful afternoon tea.
Chirk castle was a lovely walk from the site and the tour was very interesting, the café was limited but the food was delicious.
The site was clean and tidy, the toilets clean and serviceable there's no denying that the showers were poor and in need of updating but it wouldn't stop me staying at the site again. There is so much to do nearby.
