A beautiful sight this site!
This site was beautiful and particularly so because of the warm sunny weather. Full of rabbits and other wild life and birds.
Nearby for many attractions; British Ironwork Centre, Nr Oswestry a must. Be wowed by the metal sculptures and especially the Angel of Peace.
Chirk Castle was a little disappointing but a lot depends on your guided tour guide, others have had a great one, who was lively and informative. However it was certainly stunning as you made your way up the road towards it. A mini bus will take you up as it is quite a climb. You can get a drink and something to eat there.
The Keys has excellent food and attractive deco and is attractively priced and is nearby at St. Martins, Oswestry. The Duke of Wellington`s deco is nothing to write home about but the food is and we had a jolly good meal and two mugs of coffee for under £18.00. The locals there were happy to chat and were very friendly. Jones the Boats is just across the road from it. A walk down to the canal is a must and then if you are brave enough, have a trip on the boat across the Aqueduct!
We also enjoyed a visit to Wrexham which had some very old unexpected places and some excellent second hand book shops. If you are parking, do parked in the Water World car park which is cheaper than anywhere else and so near the town city which is on the flat and easy to walk to. We finish the day by buying a meal deal from Marks and Sparks, which is located towards the bottom of the town and accessible by a circular bridge.
The only regret is that we didn`t stay longer, only four nights but there is always a next time.
