Nice Site, Poor Facilities

What a pity that such a nice site, in such a peaceful area, is plagued by worn out facilities, some (very) small pitches, and a serious need of enlargement). The disabled toilet was scrupulously clean, but smelt badly of drains, and has very poor water pressure, also, a simple lack of a shower curtain. For such a popular site, surely some cash can be spent on an upgrade, and a possible development of the bottom field? Also, the kiddies 'play area' was very old, and clapped out with much use.

Too many rabbits!

Lovely site, lovely wardens but..... too many rabbits and their droppings for our liking!

Primrose Dell

We chose a pitch in Primrose Dell which was level hard standing with trees a round, the well kept site had a good clean toilet block with plenty hot water, Thewardens keep the all areas around the site clean tidy. Lady Margaret's is a quite site with squirrels & rabbits around, there is a foot path outside the site entrance which takes you on to the road to Chrick shops & near the canal footpath. We enjoyed our 3 night stay & hope to return soon.

Great Place for a break

We stopped here for 2 nights on our way home from the welsh coast.  We have stayed here several times and will do so again.  The walking is good, the dog walk is great running right round the site boundary and the site and facilities themselves are really well maintained by the warden team. The warden team were really helpful and answered a number of questions we had. a great break in a trip and well worth another visit.

Week visiting Friends

The warden was lovely considering we were late arriving, Due to the popularity of this site we had only one choice of pitch due to our late arrival. we were however offered the chance to move the next morning which we did. the site is rural and depending on your views depends how you view this site. We affectionately nicknamed it "thumperville" due to the abundance of rabbits but to be fair they were not noisy or a nuisance. there were also squirrel and many birds. if you don't like the natural world then possibly this site is not for you. we live in the country and are not actually able to view such wildlife so this was lovely to witness. There is loads to do in the area, as there is two aqueducts and a viaduct not to mention the beautiful and stunning scenery of north wales. you are also still within range of the snowdonia national park and the walled city of Chester is also worth a trip out to visit. Also Shrewsbury with its shopping :) will definitely be returning to this site in the near future and will also be tasting the products of the Chirk Tandoori too :)

Re stay: 28th June 2015 for 4 nights

Very peaceful site within walking distance of Chirk and bus stop to Wrexham, bus fare very reasonable. Surrounded by squirrels and rabbits the dells offer more privacy than the central more open section. Would recommend if you need some peace and quiet.

Relaxing weekend

what a lovely site, exceptionally friendly wardens. I stayed in Bluebell Dell under a canopy of trees, it was peaceful and lovely with the backdrop of the woods behind me. Lovely little dog walk on site. I didnt use the facilities as i used the ones in my camper. Will definitely look forward to returning in the near future.

Doggie heaven !!

Lady Margaret's is one of our favourite sites and we always try and get a visit in each season. We had a really friendly group of wardens who work so very hard but always make time for a chat . Yes the facilities block needs updating but that's on the cards soon so it will be an amazing place when that is done . Our doggies love this site and we don't use the car at all but walk everywhere with them , we love the Tea Rooms in the village that has a lovely dog friendly garden at the back and the walks along the canal are so lovely . We shall return !!!

Lady Margaret's Park

Great site and easy to get to, based in the lovely town of Chirk, staff are pleasant and helpful and the showers and toilets are great. It would be great to have external access points for ariel sockets due to the reception in the area but that does not distract from the qualities of the site. Will be going again for sure.
