All CMC wardens are good, but these could be the best - totally welcoming, friendly and helpful, not to mention the smart appearance of the site. The site is beutifully laid out in multi van bays with large hardstandings. Terrific views to Ben Eighe and surrounding hills. Being next door to the Ben Eighe nature reserve ( a vast area) walkers of all abilities are spoiled for choice. Two nice eateries nearby and a super garage/shop/cafe. Our next visit will be a little longer.
If you're into mountain walking, magnificent scenery or a great driving experience this is a perfect base. The drive through Applecross and Glen Torridon (without the caravan) is possibly the finest in Britain.
The site is an absolute gem. The wardens are friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area (and beyond). There is no WiFi on site but there is television reception for the main channels, BBC and ITV via booster cable. There was mobile reception for at least EE, can't speak for others.
The village has the basics but then you don't come here for supermarkets! There is also a garage and two cafes. The Wistle Stop cafe serves really good food. We had an evening meal there and thoroughly enjoyed it. You can take your own wine; they charge £1.00 for corkage and glasses, I have to say, it was worth it, the food deserved the wine!

We booked Kinlochewe because the roads to it are good for towing (A832) and we wanted to use it as a base for exploring the area. However, we ended up spending quite a bit of time doing great walks in the Ben Eighe nature reserve which is right next door. The site is lovely, small and friendly and the staff are really friendly. The layout is good too, we had a spacious pitch with stunning views. The petrol station right next to the entrance has a lovely little cafe in it which serves great coffee and provides free wifi, we started most days in there. It is really peaceful and relaxing, there are birds everywhere and it's just fabulous. On our last night another caravanner got out his bagpipes and played them for 15 minutes. The sound echoed round the mountains, it was magical.
We returned to this site this year that we visited for the first time last year.
Nothing has changed it still is tranquil, quiet, with friendly helpful Wardens and above an all idiot free zone. I won't write too much as the more who know and go there then the chances are it will be spoilt.
We only stayed for one night passing through, but we couldn't have had a better time. The site has spectacular views up to Ben Eighe, the pitches are easy to get into and level and the facilities are very clean. The wardens couldn't have been more welcoming, cheerful and ready with useful advice.
This isn't a place to surf the internet (there's none), but you should be out in the magnificent Highlands anyway!
Easy walking to both the village and the Ben Eighe visitor centre.
Highly recommended.
We stayed just for the one night en route to the North West. This is really nice, the wardens were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were excellent for such a small site. There's not much to do in the immediate area, there's a pub, a cafe, a garage/shop and a post office/shop in the village plus walks in the local nature reserve. We visited Gairloch on the way onwards, but it's quite possible to do this from the site as a day trip. It's surprisingly quiet on site, even though it's on the corner of a road junction. Recommended.
This was my second visit and it won't be my last. Very convenient location for touring the wonderful Scottish scenery and excellent facilities.
I have to record my thanks to the warden who pegged down our awning which we had forgotten to secure in our haste to get to the equally excellent Whistle Stop Cafe !
A lovely site with friendly and helpful wardens. Love it.
Very tidy site with a friendly staff. The site is probably in this hamlet because of the route but when we got to Kinlochewe it was shut. It was Sunday so the pub was shut but the hotel had all the lights on but the doors were locked. Again all the shops were also closed but in March the season has not properly started so I will give them a break there. The garage was well stocked with touristy items though and the guy was very friendly.
