Excellent location

The site reminds us of French and Spanish sites without the regimented pitch spaces of usual caravan club sites. Very peaceful although the acces road would benefit from smoothing out. Will definitely return

Depressing

This densely wooded site felt dark and gloomy even in good weather, with little view of the sky (or anything else) from most pitches.  Many pitches slope in two directions so levelling could be difficult especially for large vans or motorhomes.  Access within the site is also difficult for large outfits.

Last visit

Been to this site many times over the years but this time will be the last.Went round site twice to find a pitch only to find cones on the best pitches. Why I don't know cos they weren't near the toilets for disabled use.As we have a large outfit managed to get a pitch near the very run down play area.We were shoehorned in under a load of trees and had to have lights on all day didn't see any sun at all. Yes it is in a wood and in the past the pitches have been well maintained but not this time no trees been trimmed and very uneven pitches. If you have a large outfit I would think twice about coming here as the wardens are not bothered about lengths of outfits it's a case of get in and park as you like.We had to wait for the Motorhome opposite us to move next day so we could get out of our pitch it was that tight.Been to this site a few times over the years but never seen it so run down will not be going back

Dippers, peace and quiet.

Another very pleasant few days at the Kendal Site made all the better by the superb Wardens this year. Good to see the Dippers on the river again.

Disappointing

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this site. We had booked to stay a week, on our way up to Scotland, but due to family issues delaying our departure from home we cut our stay down to just two nights and were glad we did. The site is very wooded, pitches are grouped together in uneven, sloping, irregular plots, overshadowed by the trees. Television and wifi reception was poor. The facilities are inadequate, tired and miles away from some of the pitches. The access road is extremely narrow and boxed in by a hedge one side and a river bank the other, no room for passing. The wardens were very pleasant, but the site is gloomy and dark and not one for us. I am sure that a lot of members relish the peace and quiet of the woods but we prefer a more open setting.

Woodland peace

Been back twice this year as love this site. Only negative is the water for dishwashing is not hot enough to clean greasy dishes. Several evenings others made same comment. Birds and other wild life visiting added to the pleasure of the stay. Walking up through the woods to the Farm Shop for brunch as ever a treat! Staff friendly and helpful. Spotless facilities. Friday night fish&chips lovely!

Favourite site

As always a great relaxing long weekend, great staff and fantastic site. spotless facilities. only downside this trip was the speed of some vehicles on site, even though signs and speed bumps.

What a super site.

First time at Kendal but won't be the last. A really great site, good dog walking [which is one of our priorities] A warm welcome from a very helpful team of wardens. Will certainly be going back again.

"You're my favourite"

To coin a phrase! Just back from our 5th visit this year and already booked number 6. The wardens are the best we've come across, because we went outside school holidays also managed to get a really good pitch, we love it, dogs love it so a winner all round
