Enjoyable stay but issues with tv and WiFi

Friendly wardens as we chatted to several during iur stay. Disappointing there was no wifi whatsover during our 6 day stay especially when we needed it to sort out a few non caravanning issues. I was informed it was being upgraded. There was an aerial connection whixh worked initially but then for the latter part of our stay we had no signal. Again I was infirmed there was an issue with the signal. It's a return trip after many years away and plenty of places to visit which we did but nonetheless disappointing when you returned to the site that wifi and tv weren't working on wet and windy evenings especially.

Peaceful site but perfunctory welcome

After a very long drive we arrived at 12.53 pm . 7 minutes early . The road leading up to the site alongside the river was badly potholed. Barriers were removed at 1pm by a warden . we didn’t have the friendly welcome that others had . Maybe it was because we were a few minutes early ? Check in was perfunctory . The showers were just warm and the shower blocks a bit chilly . A peaceful woodland site next to an impressive river . Sadly because of the price hikes and the not so friendly welcome I don’t think I will return .

Amazing staff!

My first time at Kendal CC, what a friendly welcome it really made our day! Definitely one of the friendliest and relaxed pair of wardens we have had the honour of meeting. It was the last few days it was open before closing for the winter, yet the place was spotless. You're in a wood yet the roads were clear of leaves even in autumn! The toilet block dated but spotless but nothing the wardens can do about the poor investment by the club! It seems the investment is in pods and glamping for non-caravaners these days, not great when the prices go up and up😪 Good walks by the river. I will definitely be going back!

Great site

this is a great site, although it was very busy the pitch areas are so arranged that this wasnt noticeable. Tpilets clean and tidy, cheerful staff, and some nice walks in the area. I did notice a lack of seating on site though. Apart from two pocnic tables behind reception, there were none elsewhere, and this is a big site. Im 78 and a reat occasionally is called for.

Brilliant sight

This is our third visit this year. Mick and his staff have been very helpful. They always have a smile on their face. They helped with awning and gas issues. The place is perfect for peace and quiet. Our two dogs love it with lots of walks and either the stream or river to swim in. The farm shop and pub are perfectly placed and are in walking distance. Blocks are spotless. I don't understand the negative reviews. The tight access is no different to sights in Devon and Cornwall. Dog walks are dog walks they are all different. We have arranged to return in September

Ideal stopover

We were only stopping for a night as we headed south and this site was ideally situated close to the motorway. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the facilities were well looked after and clean. Was nice to be able to walk up the river beside the site and stretch our legs in peace and quiet. Interesting the site is situated where there was a gunpowder mill once, remains of which are still on view. Thank you to everyone.

Tranquil stay

This is a lovely peaceful site, surrounded by trees, a river and lots of varied wildlife. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great walks from the site or just a short drive away and you can do a coastal walk from Arnside to Silverdale, fantastic scenery and plenty to see and do. Ideal for families who like to explore nature and local history.

Can't understand some of the negative reviews

This is a great site with superb, friendly and helpful staff. I can't understand the people who place negative reviews with comments about the trees, lack of a children's playground and overgrown areas. The description of the site on the homepage is just what it is - a quiet and relaxing place situated in woodland and woodland has trees. We love it and are going to visit again in August for the fourth time this season. Each time we've been all the visitors I've spoken to have had nothing but praise. There are lots of attractions to visit in the area if you make the effort, many of which are very family orientated. All I can say to the complainers is that if you want excitement and facilities for the kids, go to Blackpool - we'll come back here to relax and enjoy the company of the majority of visitors instead.
