Stayed on this site early July. We had wonderful weather. Very busy, people arriving and leaving all the time, but still a quiet and relaxing site. Pitches are good size, but leveling blocks are recommended. Facilities are always clean, and plentiful. The blocks on the lower site (furthest from reception) close for cleaning in the afternoon, ideal for those who like a slow start to the day. Site perfectly located, in a quiet area, but easy walking distance to train station, and bus stops. Great walks around area, footpaths leading to both Sheringham, East Runton and Cromer, all about 1 hour or less. Hillside Animal Sanctuary in West Runton, minutes from site, worth a visit, dogs allowed too. On site, information room is excellent, variety of leaflets and ideas of things to do and events going on locally. Fish and chip van visits site on Weds and Sat. evenings - very nice and reasonably priced. Ice cream van visits every evening it seems. We've stayed at this site a number of times, and it is very popular for dog owners - we own one too. There were some people with up to four dogs per unit, but to be honest, majority of dogs were quiet, very well behaved and kept on leads on site, as per site rules, and not once did we see any 'mess' over the week, on or off site. Dogs are part of the family, its great to be able to and lovely to see owners take them on holiday. Dogs bark, but it's no difference to hearing kids screaming. You cannot guarantee 100% peace and quiet on site. Site quite hilly in places, not great for those with mobility issues, and as big site, depending where you pitch, it is not just a quick nip to reception for milk! Biggest problem on this site, is that the majority of people do not adhere to the 5mph rules, with most driving too fast. Very ignorant. Wardens are not as friendly and welcoming as previous ones, and it does make a difference. However, they are hard working as it's a huge site to maintain, and their attention to detail on site is fantastic, bunting and floral displays around the blocks, and bird feeding stations, some of which are quite novel. We love this site, so does our dog. To us, it is perfect.
