Problem dogs

I visit this site normally around 6 times a year, my stay would be fine apart from dog owners not all but some, people leave their dogs behind when they go out ,mostly in an awning they bark when other dogs or people go past their owners don’t know this because there not on site ,early in morning they let dog or dogs out to do their business while they stay in van. The dogs roam and pee or mess on other people’s pitch ,I’ve had dog peeing up side of my awning you can’t always find where they have come from ,have reported this numerous times over years to local wardens who can’t do anything if they don’t see it. The site now seems to have more dogs then humans on site ,as most owners have more than 1 ,have seen some with 5 ,I think club should start charging by the dog on site as they do adults. This is a big site and at any one time could have over 200 dogs not all will be friendly towards other dogs so even fights break out. Why can’t this site have dog free areas it has so many individual areas where this could be possible . This is a wonderful site great wardens ,lovely area ,but spoilt by so few.

Hi

well if you refer to page 669 club handbook you will see it states clearly that if a dog is out of the unit or awning it should be kept an a lead of no more than 2 m whether it is on a walk or on the owners pitch (I attach my dogs lead  to the motorhome step as she loves to lay outside and watch the world)  given that these are the rules I am surprised that the manager was unable to sort the problem as surely dogs off the lead are easy to spot, and would have thought they would  know the rules and be able to enforce them without having to witness the incident( perhaps you could have photographed the dog(s) running loose.

I am afraid caravan and motorhoming is an obvious choice to us dog owners as many of us think our dogs deserve and want to be on holiday with us and we would not chose or be able to leave them behind for many reasons.

So armed with this rule infomation perhaps you will be able to "nip in the bud" any similar incidents should they occur.

The huge majority of club members, like us are very responsible

Hope this helps
