Hilly Views

We visited this site with our caravan between the 16th & 21st May for the first time. The final directions to the site are fine but think they could be more explicit with emphasis on approaching the area from either direction along the A148 Holt Road turning onto the A1082 Holway Road, turning right (East) onto the A149 towards West Runton. All other links from the A148 onto the A149 should be avoided despite what your GPS might say! On arrival the reception could not have been more welcoming. In contrast to the narrow approach road the stopping area at reception is bigger than usual. The site can best be described as large but stretched out into a horseshoe around the golf course and in order to select a vacant pitch you have to drive right around the site, out and back through the entrance barrier. Despite the slightly contradictory information supplied, levelling blocks/ramps are a must with most pitches sloping in two directions. The roadways and all paths slope. All but the first 6 x pitches near to the entrance are on grass which despite the rain all appeared to drain well. TV & mobile phone signals were hit and miss but Wifi seemed fine. There are no TV points n the electric bollards. Although there are no dog walks on site, there are numerous paths from the site especially up, over and around Incleboro Hill and down to West Runton and the beach. There is a big new Tescos on tha A149 at Sherringham a few minutes car journey away. We walked the coast path to Sherringham and took the train back to West Runton (1 x stop) costing £2.60 per single and the dog was free. Tried the visiting fish & chips once. Have no hesitation in saying we will visit this peaceful, pretty, well located site again.
