Love this site, apart from .........

..... yapping dogs not being controlled which spoils the peace and quiet. We went to enjoy the Sheringham 1940's weekend and were excited on arrival to see the wardens were joining in with the fun. Excellent site, friendly and fun wardens and immacutely clean facilities, apart from in one of the four blocks with only 2 hair driers one was broken. Water wasn't as hot as we have experienced on other CC sites in washing up area but not a problem. Big site set around a golf course with some large areas to pitch up and some smaller ones with lots of little terraces dotted around.  Thanks to the great wardens for being part of a great weekend, will definately return again.

Halt!

Well that was a surprise to be met at the entrance gate by guards in army uniform, a crashed German plane, a halt sign and the office covered in air raid tape and some war time names on the doors. Then we realised we were arriving during the local 1940's weekend! Many thanks to all the wardens and good humoured folk who dressed the part, we enjoyed it all. It was good to see how much was raised for Help the Heroes and other charities. And we liked the site too, the walks on Incleboro Hill, the stroll to the beach and the nice surroundings of the site. Wish we lived a bit nearer we would be frequent returners!

Excellent site

All staff are most friendly, helpful and welcoming, and work endlessly to keep the amenities spotless and the whole site immaculate. This was our 3rd visit and we shall certainly be back next year. Without doubt this is one of the best sites we have stayed on.

Interesting site

I liked the ambiance of this site and the wardens were nice and friendly. The toilet block is excellent, but the washing up area is less spacious than other sites we've been on and the water wasn't really hot. The pitch arrangement is nice with small areas, but it was hard to find a level pitch available and I couldn't get a signal on my phone and couldn't connect to wifi, so that was a disappointment. The area is lovely and we had a good time out and about. If I could be sure of a level pitch, phone signal and wifi I would go again.

Very large site ... abysmal Wifi

This is the most extensive site we have stayed at yet - the perimeter road is 1.25 miles (2km), with lots of small areas to camp as well as one very large one, and there is quite a climb to the top areas. A car is essential to get out/back from the furthest pitches - it can be over 0.5 mile to reception alone. From reception there is a walk of about 0.5 mile to West Runton village where you can get a bus to Sheringham (west) or Cromer/Norwich (east); services run every 10-15 minutes. You can also get the train from West Runton station.

My bugbear with this site is the ABYSMAL Wifi service. You'll be lucky to get any more than 0.5 Mbps, and usually much less. The Caravan Club really MUST invest in better Wifi - its a fact of life that members want this service, and if you provide it, it MUST be man enough to do the job. I have seen other comments from people who have paid £10 for access for a week and got something which is virtually unusable .... this is daylight robbery and the CC should be ashamed.

Superb campsite

Immaculate facilities, pitches well divided into small areas, friendly efficient staff, great pub within walking distance, easy walk to the beach and absolutely ideal for dog owners. Wonderful countryside. Well done, Caravan Club.

Lovely but ...

A large site but divided into different areas so it feels smaller. However this makes it more stressful finding a pitch when the site is busy, especially as some pitches looked relatively poor and harder to pitch on. This is presumably why some members ignore the signs asking them not to arrive before 1 pm because of the narrow access road. Discourteous and dangerous so perhaps the wardens should make them wait until after the official entrance time? Would agree with the speeding problem, especially at the top of the site where some drivers appeared to assume no one would walk. Lots of walks straight from the site. Wardens stunning as usual, all the extras were appreciated and the site was immaculate. Would definitely come again but not if we thought the site would be busy because I would worry about some pitches

Granddaughters first caravan holiday by the seaside

First time we've been to this site Super Wardens, very friendly and helpful. Site is well maintained and the toilets were spotless.   Managed to hitch up on a relatively flat pitch. You do need levelling blocks for many of the pitches Sadly it was very muddy. But nothing anything anyone can do about the British weather.  Some people were inconsiderate about the noise.  It's a good walk back to the site office/shop from lots of the pitches due to the size of the site, and its location around a golf course.   The only real grip was the speed of some of the campers.  There are plenty of signs stating the 5mph speed limit. But ignored by many of the users  Over a decent site, and we would visit again

Superb campsite

My first visit to this site and rather nervous of huge number of pitches.  however, it is perfect for dogs, all pitches beautifully landscaped to give privacy, excellent facilities, very friendly and helpful staff...and amazing walks immediately from the site...no cars needed.  The surrounding area has masses to offer visitors and an excellent Village Inn pub within walking distance. I highly recommend this site and will return in my VW Caddy Camper - the smallest campervan there. Make sure you take binoculars as amazing bird life to spot. Go to Norfolk Wildlife Trust site en route to Blakeney.
