A North Norfolk Gem

We stayed at this site for a week in August 2016 and we're delighted we did. Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful and work really hard to keep the site looking clean and tidy. The site has lots of terraces, some of which have views of the sea, some of which are nicely tucked away and are quiet. Some of the terraces may be less suitable for larger outfits. There are a couple of more typical site fields with rows of pitches to suit large outfits or visitors who want to be closer to facilities. Shower blocks are dotted around the site and are very well appointed with showers, wash cubicles and WC's. The one near us was always nice and clean and tidy, being closed off for an hour in the late afternoon for cleaning. The site has a small shop for a few supplies like bread, milk, eggs etc as well as a few camping accessories. An ice cream van visits the site each evening in main season, as does a fish & chip van on Wednesday and Saturday tea time. The site is half way between Cromer and Sheringham, two lovely seaside towns well worth a visit, and the local beach is a bit of a walk away for those who are up to it. For the golfer, the 9 hole golf course next door looked worth a visit with some challenging looking holes. All in all, a lovely site which we are sure to visit again.

First class site

Has a lovely stay here and look forward to returning in the future. The toilet and shower block was outstanding being bright,  modern and clean and the pitches are very generous. Highly recommended.

A great site fo all

After sharing our space with grandchildren at Burford the week before this to be a seaside escape for the two of us. Peace and quiet doesn't always go hand in hand with August by the sea. How great then to have site offering so much choice in pitch types. We found one of several peaceful enclaves with sun, no passing traffic, away from the busy family field and wished we could have stayed longer. We'll be back. Great site great wardens and great location!!

A very good site

This is a very attractive site, and the wardens were very friendly and welcoming. The location is great in West Runton with the golf course almost part of the site and the railway station with an hourly service very nearby. The setting of the site is very pleasant in amongst the gorse and trees with many small areas carved out. It had a nice ambience. It was school holiday time so there were plenty of children playing around which made it a little noisy, but that's life and good luck to them. The facilities were good but quite busy as the site was full. The only real criticism is that the wi fi was so slow that it was mostly impossible to use; I could not even complete the log in process most of the time. There was plenty of signal but I guess the 'pipe' to the site was insufficient. Could not get 3g on the phones either. The discount at the golf course was welcome and the golf clubhouse was popular. The best meal out was at the hotel rather than the pub. The short train ride to Cromer was good. Definitely would like to go back.

C and C again

Another enjoyable stay

This site is so nice to come back to,never disappoints, the wardens are so welcoming and not just on arrival either.it is so well kept that there are no negatives at all, will keep coming back.the surrounding area is ideal ,nice walks into cromer or sheringham,or if you aren't feeling like walking there is either the train or bus just a few minutes walk away.we never want to leave so that's a good sign.

Fantastic site

Lovely clean, well managed and stunning site. Local beaches were beautiful, try west runton for fossils and rock pools at low tide. Plenty of safe bathing beaches as well. We had a wonderful week on a pitch with a fantastic sea view. Will definitely be returning X

Fantastic site

Made to feel very welcome by the team of wardens on arrival. Superbly well kept site with nice playground for the kids, great dog walks and really close to the beach. Wardens were a fantastic help with helping me hitch up again for my departure. Will definitely return.

3rd time here & love it

Two weeks in July. This was our 3rd visit to this site. On arrival the wardens immediately recognised us from previous visits and made us very welcome. We had brought another family with us who also fell in love with site.  Beautifully kept and clean showers. The wardens work very hard and non stop all day, they are a credit to the club.  As already mentioned,  20 min walk to West Runton beech, local pub for a drink. Beautiful views from the top of the surrounding hills especially at sun set.  We will be booking again next year for this site.  Please pay attention to the arrival time 1pm as any earlier you may not get down the narrow lane for people leaving.

A corker of a site !

Just returned from a 3-week stay at this site and it's a real gem!  Our first visit here and it has definately made it into our top 3 to visit again.  We cannot fault this site in any way, the facilities are maintained beautifully by the amazing wardens, so friendly and helpful and always smiling - a credit to the Caravan Club.  This site is in a great location, within a 15 minute walk to the village centre, where there is a Spar, camping shop, tea shop and a great pub, albeit slightly pricey.  The train station is only a 10 minute walk and goes directly to Cromer and Sherringham - a typical seaside town with the most Fish n Chip shops we have ever seen in one village!  The walk to the beach takes about 20 minutes and that's with a 5 year old, so it's not far but the beach car park is only £2.50 a day, so if you're loaded up with beach equipment, it may be a better and cheap option.  We really love this site, okay you do need a bit of stamina to walk around it - just over a mile and quite steep in places but it is laid out in lots of different areas/terraces so you really don't feel like the site is anywhere close to as big as it is.  I just wish people would take notice of the 5mph speeding limit.  We got hooted at several times for doing 5mph, along with quite a few hand signals and even had other cars trying to overtake - on a camp site ... really .... we're all on holiday aren't we?

Great site in a great location with great staff

We took our camper-van up towards the top end of the site - and found a place with a view of the sea - and we had a great time walking the north Norfolk coastal path and eating freshly caught crab from Sheringham. Absolutely no negatives to say about the site other than the noise that came from the camping and caravan site behind us - but as usual that died away by 22.00 in the evening. Look forward to staying again.
