Opening week!
Start of the season & I want to get away for a 3 night stay somewhere where the weather won't stop me from enjoying myself.
This for me is the place.
Opening week and the park is ready as it should be.
New wardens in at the deep end but with all the charm & enthusiasm they will need to do well here.
I used Hurn Lane for a base to tour the area and Cheddar Gorge is an absolute must.
A day at Western Super-mare is also a must however expect to get fleeced to park your car on the sea front during the season.
Free parking is available on Sunday alone the adjacent road to the sea front otherwise a fight for a space on a side road is the way.
Access to the site is via a typical narrow B road and meeting another outfit coming the other way can be challenging as very few passing points so you need to slow down and rely on the others being just as responsible which on the whole they were.
Hard to give this site a full overall rating at this time as i haven't seen it in full swing but all looks good.......
However it must be a thing with all long outfits and all the sites i have been to thus far, I find the site tight to access the pitch without driving on the grass which is a pet hate of mine. A mover is a great advantage as the lay out of the road requires blind side reversing on most of the perimeter pitches. As most of the pitches require access in this way maybe the direction of travel would be better off in the opposite direction but hey it's only a minor moan and wont take away the pleasure of your stay.
Point of note, this site do hold in stock the Light weight Calor gas propane bottles which were always a pain to get hold of last year at many sites so all bases covered when it comes down to basic supply needs however these are cash sales only so don't leave home without a trip to the cash point first!
Will defiantly return hopefully later in the season.
Top Job!
