Disappointed
The Ladies were incredibly friendly at reception and we had a hassle free entry onto site. The water tap on our serviced pitch was broken when we arrived but it got rectified soon after we reported it. The site was very well maintained, facilities very clean / COVID secure, though unfortunately the toilet block nearest to us was closed for a full day due to a blocked drain. Luckily there was a second block on the other side of the site that remained open. The other guests on site were really friendly, as were the staff. The dog exercise area is very small indeed and not really worth going to. The only value it added as a dog owner was access to a dog poo bin (the only one on site).
In my opinion its not a quiet / peaceful site - on the other side of the hedge to our pitch there was someone undertaking a campervan renovation so we had building noises (sawing / drilling etc) until 11 at night most evenings. Additionally, the site adjoins holiday resort unity's play area on one side so there was quite a lot of noise from that (didn't bother us but I can imagine not everyone's cup of tea). My biggest gripe with the site is that the play area was closed for repair. It was one of the sole reasons we chose the site (we have very young children 3&5) and as we arrived the first day after the lockdown restrictions were lifted there was really no excuse for this (they had weeks to sort it while the site was closed). To add to this, there was no mention of the closure on the website so we weren't prepared for it and were left with 2 very disappointed little people.
The location was good - easy access to the seaside, Brean leisure park and Burnham on Sea. We also took a trip to Cheddar Gorge which id highly recommend. Whilst I appreciate that we visited after a long period of closure for the site so there were understandable teething issues, the negatives outweighed the positives for me so we wont be returning.
