A nice base to work from
This was our first time at Burnham on sea; it was also our first time in a motor home after 10 years or so of caravanning so a new experience for us.
We have to say both the site and first use of motor home have been very, very good
The site was immaculately tidy, this is somewhat expected and part of why we are in the club but the presentation of this site is second to none. We arrived late Saturday, as we had to swop our van and its equipment over to the new motor home on the Saturday mid morning. This meant we had no opportunity of hard standing, the site was busy but not full, the grass pitches were in superb condition.
Drainage must be really good here despite all the rain over the last few weeks and rain while pitched there were no tracks from losing traction or skidding and the pitches were always usable.
The wardens were as usual first class and very helpful, looking around the overall condition of the site you can see they are very dedicated to their job.
Toilets and showers are OK but not the best, no fault of the wardens they are small need benches in the showers, just a bit in need of a refit. Good enough to do what you need to do in them and get out, they are kept clean and tidy, enough said about that.
Lots to do around site, 10 minute walk or so to bus stop, this is through a static caravan park, this is the safest way to beach road as it will keep you off the narrow road. Also on the static site is a shop carrying a lot more than the usual bread and milk on the CC site shop.
All useful stuff for a motor home user so you can get essentials close by and a trip to visit other places without taking the van.
Only down side is the dog walk, frankly it is more a dog spot than a walk no were near big enough to exercise dogs and the walk along the narrow road to beach walk is very unpleasant with a dog. This won’t influence non dog owners but will be important to those that like to take their pets with them. And there are a great many of us that do that.
