Overnight stopover on way home. Site fine with a clean but slightly tired toilet block. For the price and grading was a little disappointed.
April 2017
We were not aware of the building going on when we arrived but it didn't interfere with our enjoyment. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and kept everywhere clean and tidy. 2 pitches were still flooded despite the dry weather but all others were OK.
The downside VERY small dog walk and the lane outside leading to the beach is very narrow and busy if you're walking there. The site in the corner by the dog walk is quite noisy from the adjacent camp site with a constant squeaking from a piece of equipment. The thing that was most disappointing was the poor wifi reception in that area - not what we expected from a gold standard!
Overall though a good site if you want to be in this area.
Pleasant Stay
Spent a very relaxing 7 nights from 29th March at this site which we thought was well up to the Club's high standards. The Wardens were helpful and friendly and we did not find the renovation works taking place at all intrusive. The dog walking area is very very small which could be a problem when the site is busy as although there is excellent dog walking on the Berrow dunes and beach they are a good 15 - 20 minutes walk away which is a bit inconvenient for early morning and late night walks.

Another peaceful stay
Once again, we enjoyed a 3 night stay at this lovely site. Half of the site was closed on our arrival and we were not aware that works were being carried out installing serviced pitches and a brand new toilet block. There was no noise (Sat/Sun). So looking forward to returning and enjoying a serviced pitch next time! Staff friendly and helpful as always.
Looking forward to the new upgrade work to be completed.
This is one of our favourite sites. Excellent, friendly wardens and a great location near a long beach for our dogs. Brean has become very commercialised during peak times but the position off the site allows you to avoid it. Its great to see the site being upgraded but why does the club waste so much money on different colour warden uniforms and the re branding. As we are fortunate to spend over 100 nights a year on club sites, I would rather a free night here and there for my my loyalty. Other holiday companies achieve this for their customers. It took a while to realise who the wardens were, having been so used to them being dressed in green.
I will definitely use the site again and but would like to see the wardens not empty the bins every morning at 9 am using the noisey tractor which puts paid to any morning peace here. As they drive from bin to bin, they ensure absolutely everybody is woken up. I suspect it might be something to do with the toilets being closed 10 am to 11 am during peak times and to get everyone out of bed. Comically, the wardens wear ear protectors to protect themselves from the noise for the tractor !. I recently stayed at Broadway where the wardens there pride themselves on cleaning the toilets in the afternoon ..so please take note.

Great deputy wardens.
Just had a fantastic break at Hurn Lane. Just after we arrived the water pump stopped working. The deputy wardens were of a great help In sorting out an engineer to sort for us. We visit this site at least 2/3 times and the wardens we have found are outstanding. We know they are moving sites next year and we wish them well.
Thank you so much, good luck.

Good for families
We really like Hurn Lane and it is the only site I would consider staying on when visiting the area. Due to having family in the area and young children we have visited Hurn Lane on many occasions this season. This is a large spacious site and the pitches are well spread out. The pitches are large and wardens allow visitors to park on the pitch if the extra car fits. This makes a big difference to us as we have many visitors. It is a walk to the beach but you can pay to drive on. ( free at Brean down for NT members). It is a walk to the pub and the 'attractions' at Brean - about 20 mins. It is candy floss, arcades and fairground rides..but our two love it ( big sooty fans!) and if they're happy.... The beach is also lovely - really safe. Brean down, in particular is beautiful on a sunny day. Along the coast there are dunes to explore and toilets and refreshments close by.
We have always found the wardens to be welcoming. This visit we needed some assistance as my daughter had a broken leg. We really appreciated the attention and kindness she received. Reserving us a pitch close to facilities and then ringing back to confirm that it was a suitable pitch for us made a big difference to our stay.
Thank you to all the wardens who have worked so hard at Hurn Lane this year.
