Great stay!

We have had a brilliant 10 days here. Wardens are fantastic, so helpful and friendly. Yes you need a car, but you are in the middle of the forest but everywhere is accessible by car. A lot of negative reviews about the BBQ ban but it wasn’t just the site - it was all over the area. It didn’t worry us though as we used an electric grill so no bother at all. Will definitely come back

Wonderful

A lovely site with friendly helpful wardens. Toilet and shower blocks were spotless, lovely little shop and information point. Nice park for the children, only downfall was there is very limited phone signal and the site wifi was also poor. Having said that we will be back again!

Wonderful!!

Well what can I say, 11 wonderful nights on this beautifully kept site. The wardens are ALL so helpful and happy…. Nothing is too much trouble! The dog walking field is the best we have seen and the facilities are spotless! I feel absolutely gutted about the negative reviews this site has received, of which most are completely out of the wardens control! The dog noise (which we didn’t find an issue) was minimal and the BBQ ban was across the area because you are in a forest!! We are with EE and had 5g so not a problem. All I can say is THANK YOU Graham, Dawn, Clare and Emma for a wonderful Stay!! Lou and Hay xx

What no WiFi..... Woof Woof

Great location but you need a car to go anywhere, even on bikes it's a trek anywhere, the near by pub is variable on opening times again you need to drive there as walking isn't an option as it's along a 50mph road, no street lighting nor footpath. I can't fault the staff as usual but the constant barking of dogs day and night and the cockeral crowing in the morning....OMG. I don't mind the noise at all from families on holidays but this is a club for all and we pay good money for it, wardens going around and telling people to be quiet is a bit far in my eyes. WiFi.... what the hell. This is by fair the worst place we have ever stayed for WiFi. Yes first world problems I know but when you pay for a service and it claims to be a renowned service and it doesn't deliver... at all I took pictures of the wifi speed and if they call that bronze WiFi , God knows what the gold and silver are like. Not able to use any website to plan anything, days of no service or poor connection. Not up to the CaM club standard. Either ipgrade it or bin it as its not fit for purpose. The recent issue of not being able to use gas appliances outside on your pitch. I totally get the reason for solid fuel BBQs and the fire risk but a gas one that has literally no chance of causing a fire unless you kick it over and purposely light something. Ridiculous rule. What did all the people staying in tents have to do? How did they cook their food without any solid / gas fuelled appliances??? Did the club reimburse them? Was smoking banned on site?? Nah we'll let the biggest risk to brush and heath fires go unchecked. With prices increasing year on year you have to wonder of this is a worthwhile club to be in. Come in to the to the real world.

We were disappointed

Firstly the positives, the wardens were particularly kind and helpful, always with time to say hello and make you feel welcome. We were staying on a grass pitch which was on quite a slope and impossible for us to get the caravan level. There seems to be little control on how people park their outfits with many taking up their pitch and half of the ones either side of them. Most cars were considerate of the speed limits on site which is good as so many children were hurtling around the site on bikes and scooters, there were a couple of near misses that we witnessed. I had no phone signal and TV was hit and miss, we were told it was better up on the gravel pitches. Lots of lovely beaches nearby, we particularly enjoyed Shell Beach but expect a 20 minute journey to most places. The pub nearby only opens a few days a week even in high season.

Hunters moon

Good——- Friendly staff Clean facilities Good walk into woods behind site (didn’t know it was there till half way through holiday) Good location Improvements needed —— Grass pitches next to fields not fit for purpose and not caravan and motor home standard. Mark the pitches like the opposite side which means loosing some pitches yes, but quality better than poor quality it just seems like your being greedy for cramming more in, it’s like a field with a free for all. Travellers side, can’t improve the issue I guess but to much barking from there dogs constantly and cockerels, night time especially. I would leave if had to be on that side. It’s hardly 10pm quiet time that you require with that side anyway? I understand bbq being banned with fire risk that was happing during our stay, but banning Cadac’s? Come on, a curry cooking in a cadac is not a risk, your members smoking and the embers would be but you didn’t ban smoking ?! Good food was lost because of this ridiculous rule. Don’t understand why I was told to take my wind break down night time and if I went out. Also not everyone was told to do this. It did seem your older members were allowed to do what they want but anyone under 50 was watched with a hawk eye! By the male staff this issue, not the lady staff who were lovely. But treat everyone the same please, General concerns for caravan and motor home as a whole company——- your rules are becoming ridiculous to the point at any site we go to of yours we feel like naughty children sitting out with a glass of wine talking when our 5 year old is in bed, we’re in our late 40’s. Come on lighten up a bit, a little bit of chatter and laughing is infectious, as long as it’s not loud with music etc, have your curfew for 11 with quiet talking allowed yes, but not silence! It ruins the evenings. Your sites are not for oap’s only but if that’s what you want fine , but you take my money I want to relax and not feel on edge, I’m sure your aware more and more young families are getting into caravan and motor homes and you are known as the Boring rules club where your not allowed to have fun. I’m sure you want there business but more people are saying go to caravan and camping sites if you want to relax and not feel like you can’t talk. I’m not talking kids running riot but come on get with the times a little and relax your rules! Your sites are clean and generally organised but you need to loose this fun police issue you have .

Credit to the wardens

2nd time we have been to this site.. lovely big pitches.. lots of places to visit nearby.. Swanage, Wareham durdledoor and more.. we was lucky with the weather only rained Tues morn... The site itself does have the noise of the dogs constantly.. even early hrs of the morn.. Clare and Emma the wardens were lovely always had time to chat and never stopped.. unlike other wardens on sites.. even chatted about maybe trying it for ourselves... Facilities are always clean.. even if the top block did have a blockage... Will 100% be back here .. the geese flying over every day was amazing.. see you soon

Fantastic site, would highly recommend

Felt so compelled to write this review due to the FANTASTIC wardens who went out of their way to ensure our stay at this site was enjoyable. Thank you so much to all 4 of them, we loved chatting to you! The area has so much to offer, the site is so well located to visit some amazing places - Kingston Lacey, Durdle Door, Swanage steam railway, the beautiful forest cycle trails close by etc. The site was very clean and family friendly, we took part in many of the family/children activities put on by the wardens. A holiday we won't forget for a long time! Thank you very much!

Great site, very helpful staff

This was our second, stay at this wonderful site this year. We had a lovely peaceful 3 night stay, with nice weather. I am writing tis review to say a big thankyou to Graham, one of the wardens, who helped when our elderly labrador, was overcome with the heat, after a shortish walk, bringing water and offering to get a doggy ice scream. Secondly he repaired our tv coax, which had become damaged. he is a credit to the club Thank you

Much Good But Some Bad

A well run and located site. Site layout and facilities to the high standard you come to expect at CC sites. We'll placed in Wareham Forest and Dorset to enjoy all it has to offer. Now for the bad.... located next to a council travellers site resulting in lots of noise and barking dogs day and night. Some pitches worse than others, cryptically described by wardens on arrival, trying to cover themselves. WiFi Is really woefully.. Bronze minus ! In a area of also poor mobile reception this was frustrating. Even when standing under mast it did not work. Come on CC its 2022 you must do better. Finally nearby pub, The Silent Women, not to be relied upon... unpredictable opening times and closed 2-3 days per week in July .... a shame as I do like a pub within walking distance. In summary, its a real shame that this lovely site and super wardens and are dragged down by the above....this would probably stop a return visit.
