this is the 1st time my wife and i have stay on a site without the usual toilet/shower facilities, and believe me we both coped well. if not better !!!
the site is well placed ,and is in walking distance to Hebden Bridge via the canal ,which is a really nice place ,with its shops and food places.
The surrounding area is a must for people not knowing this part of Yorkshire and the Bronte country is so close by .
The only fault in my opinion is the amount of caravans in relation to the size of the site ,we stayed on pitch 33 ,which was nice for the sun ,but i felt a bit squeezed in.
overall a nice easy site to get to via the motorway and the pub up the road (Robin Hood ) is well worth a visit with its real ale and lovely lamb dishes .
Peaceful site
We used this as a stopover between Northumberland and North Wales and I wish we could of stayed longer! The site is well laid out and very peaceful but close enough to shops/pubs etc if you need them. There are lovely walks nearby and driving on through Hebden Bridge and Todmorden I would love to have stopped longer to explore. We may well be back!!
Quiet weekend break
After just loosing my mum my wife suggested a quiet weekend away, and we couldn't have picked anywhere better than Hebden Bridge, the site is very well maintained, the wardens are very friendly & helpful, we pitched on a grass pitch due to site being full & our short notice of booking, it was right across from the service points so we were well pleased they sited us there, it seemed to be all adults on site ( probably due to there being no toilet or shower block) so it was just perfect for us, it's a nice 15 min stroll into the village with a couple of pubs and stores for your groceries and the bus runs every 10 min into Hebden bridge, all in all a very pleasant site and we will be going back very soon.
House hunting weekend.
We used this site whilst house hunting in preparation for a move to Hebden Bridge. The drive over Cragg Vale to the site is a wonderful experience, especially at dusk following a traffic heavy 9 hour journey! The reception had closed but clear instructions about which pitch to use were left for us by the warden who, was extremely welcoming the next morning. The site is quiet and located in woodland next to a river. We liked the fact that the bus to Hebden Bridge stopped just outside the site entrance and allowed us to have an evening wander and visit to a new micro pub in town. Next time we shall stay longer and take our cycles. The area has some fantastic cycling opportunities.
Super location.
We spent 5 nights here recently and found the location and site to be splendid. No toilet block is not a big deal as nightly cost reflects that. Good walking by Rochdale canal and Hebden Bridge is a delight. Hardcastle Crags nearby with good walking. A memorable few days helped by sunny weather.
Weekend away
We have just had a extremely good welcome from the wardens on our arrival, sorted out a lovely plot with sun all day. Very local to the village with eating and drinking hostelry. Will be using this site in the future.
Relaxing Weekend
We've just got home after 2 nights at Hebden Bridge site (albeit nowhere near Hebden Bridge) and had a very relaxing weekend. The wardens were very friendly & helpful and the site was perfectly maintained. There are no toilets/showers here which was a first for us, but we put our Motorhome bathroom to full use and didn't miss the facilities at all! We will be going back, but we wouldn't with the kids - it's not the site for them....it is peaceful & they are not!!
peace & quiet
We arrived yesterday the couldnt be more helpfull, Told us about a really nice cafe in hebden bridge that caters for your canine friends aswell as yourself called the lamp post ( our dog had a pup cake & a dog beer) & the walk was really nice aswell ! Everyone seems really friendly & the pub is only a short walk away or if you need anything from the shops Sainsburys is about 20 mins walk & the coop about 25 mins walk. What more could you ask for ?? The only down fall is no wifi but thats not an issue because most phone tether now !! Over all we love this place.
Excellent ten days at Hebden Bridge
We normally prefer sites with toilet blocks but chose Hebden Bridge as it's a good base for exploring West Yorkshire, particularly the Haworth area (10 miles away) which was our main aim. We had a great holiday. the site is in a beautiful location in a wooded valley but with plenty of sunlight. There's a bit of road noise (we were right next to the road, other pitches were much further away) but it didn't really bother us. The wardens were excellent, very helpful (and very understanding when I realised I'd had a senior moment and pitched wrongly in relation to the white peg!). Lots of excellent walking within easy reach, including some beautiful canal towpath walks. Hebden bridge is 2 miles along the Rochdale canal (3 including the walk down into Mytholmroyd but you can cheat and park in the village). We had excellent meals in two nearby pubs. No wifi, and my Vodafone dongle wouldn't connect on site. But free wifi (and great beer) in the Robin Hood 1 mile away. And I could connect in the car park in Mytholmroyd!). We will definitely return to this site.

Happy Hebden Weekend
Thought we would have a change of scene from the Lake District, and turned to my handbook to find an alternative . Came across the Hebden Bridge site, and read the glowing reviews. We were not disappointed with the site or the Wardens.
The site is easy to find and very well landscaped, with spacious pitches, we had a lovely pitch overlooking a 'babbling brook' , the wardens were extremely friendly as per reviews and VERY knowledgeable, we got the impression nothing would be too much trouble for them and they were game for a laugh !!! My husband has a disability but we did manage the walk into Hebden Bridge, a pleasant stroll through the local village a lovely scenic canal stroll into Hebden Bridge.
Hebden Bridge is a traditional yorkshire town with a real folk festival type vibe.
Would recommend this club site for adults only as there are no amenities for children which can lead to their boredom affecting members relaxation ?
