A lovely quiet site. Made very welcome. Agree that toilet block needs updating but it was very clean. Good dog walk. Very helpful wardens when we had a disabled friend visiting for the day. We will return. Thought it was expensive though.
Excellent site and super wardens
We really enjoyed our stay at Haycraft. So much so we've already booked a return visit in a few weeks time. The site is small but a real gem. On 2 levels it feels very private. Deer wander round the area and even on the site. The wardens were top notch and did everything they could to get us a pitch last minute. The loos are a touch small and dated as previously mentioned on other reviews, but has not put us off. Highly recommended.

Tired Site
The only positive about this site is the location, which is well placed for walkers and cyclists, with some good pubs and eating places. It’s in a very peaceful location which we like, but appreciate its not for everyone and a couple of visitors at the same time noted that it was too quiet for them. The site itself is tired to say the least. The facilities block is old and not particularly clean. The showers flood, water temperature inconsistent (showers cool/sinks too hot), the hooks in the showers are mainly broken so your clothes end up on the floor, the velux windows don’t appear to have been cleaned since they were installed and the overall feel is one of neglect. Given that caravan club prices are seeing significant increase this year it doesn’t feel like you are getting value for money, I can only agree with other reviewer about the wardens; they appear to have different rules for either “preferred” customers or friends and a pitch can be reserved. We were told it was for large outfits, but this did not appear to be the case when the outfits turned up on site!
Haycraft great site let down by the toilet block
This is a great site,we have stayed here six times.Sadly the toilet block is passed its sell by date.
During our stay this time the drains were blocked. Essential maintenance had to be done on some other fault, which caused the block to be closed completely from 8.00 am for the whole of the day.
The velux window in the roof space also had to be replaced, due to leakage causing further inconvenience for another day
One shower was closed off for 3 days for some patching up,which only left 2 operational.
The wash hand basin tops are stained and marked, some lighting was off in the gents, and the showers constantly pass water under the doors onto the path inside.
There are no stools in the showers, and the clothes pegs are missing or broken.this leaves you with the problem of where to put your clothes.
The brick paving path outside is in a dangerous state ,and the steps from the upper level have gaps.
The site fees for here are expensive,so the facilities should be of a better standard. Its time to spend some money and get them upgraded.
Well kept site let down by toilet block
We’ve been going to Haycraft for about 26 years but this may be our last. Caravan Club prices are now quite expensive for what you’re paying, I think the aged toilets need upgrading to what’s expected. People have been moaning about the flooding showers, inconsistent water temperature for years, but nothing seems to happen.
On a positive note, the grass and hedges were probably the best kept we’ve ever seen them. This appears to be due to the CC employing a groundsman who stops on site and pays his own site fees. However, due to his limited hours, having a hedge cut 5ft behind your caravan with a petrol cutter at 9:30am is not such a good idea. Maybe a lesson to be learned by the CC here - there are some very good electric tools available now which would preserve the peace of the holidaymaker?
Then there’s talk of building Pods on the site!!!! Ahhhh!!! It used to be called the Caravan Club (good logo and name) and then become the Caravan and Motorhome Club (bad logo) - what’s it going to be called next “The Motorhome, Pod and Caravan Club”. There would be more people using the poor toilet block!!

Disappointed- In general
Got to site and booked in and told every site is now 13:00 which is a good thing , but disappointed they day before told the the shower block and toilets could be shut for repairs 2 days - not enough time to find another site
I haven’t been with the club nearly 30 years and don’t like being felt like they are a cut above us as we pay a membership and sights as well
Also we should be treated the same , not the wardens putting a cone out for there friends to park there car near the office- I thought they was for everyone to use
The toilets and showers want up dating
Great site with amazing wardens
A small and peaceful site. Facilities are always clean. We liked that some areas had been left to grow wild and we could watch the butterflies. The wardens are to be highly praised. As we were leaving our caravan suddenly unhooked. They were with us in seconds, recognising the problem instantly and had it sorted out in within a few minutes. We can’t thank them enough.
Great Site
Just spent a 10 nighter nice and quiet toilet block is a bit dated but very clean. Don’t know what hardcore is under the pitches used rock pegs with a lump hammer plus screw in pegs over 50 percent bent think I’ll take marquee pegs when we go again ?

Great Wardens!
Excellent wardens - a credit to the Caravan Club!
A site in a great location - handy to visit the gems of Dorset.
Only downside is that there are no serviced pitches and the toilet block could do with being a bit larger - but it is kept nicely clean by the wardens
Peace and tranquility in Dorset
My wife and I decided to re-visit this site in April this year in our motorhome having stayed here in between the ‘lockdowns’ in 2020. What a great little site… immaculately kept by wardens Andie & Al who we found to be very personable and helpful. Nice walk over the fields to the Kings Arms at Langton Matravers who provide pub grub and from their oven installed in an out building in the garden…quality pizzas. Corfe village and castle is a mere 2.5 mile walk across the fields or alternatively can be reached via the Swanage steam railway which stops at Harman’s Cross just up the road from the site. The bus to Swanage runs on a regular schedule. An absolute gem of a site 😁Jane, Phil & Barney the yellow Labrador - Swift Escape 614
