Two significant considerations
Plenty has been written about the layout and facilities, including the usual high level of service from wardens. For this review I propose to highlight two important aspects of the site - location within minutes walk of the delightful town of Hawes; and proximity to a variety of excellent rural walks.
For Stephanie and I, who spent eight days over Christmas at the site, its location right on the edge of the fascinating town of Hawes, was a real plus. Here you can shop in traditional shops, visit the Creamery, and enjoy a multitude of pubs and cafes. As a Christmas venue it is unsurpassed here in the North of England.
Additionally, being right on the Trans Pennine Trail, there are spectacular walks for all abilities, with delightful villages within easy reach. It is one of those sites where you can park up for the duration of your stay and enjoy getting out and about on foot. In the summer months there is the further benefit of a local bus service which gives access throughout the dale.
