Location great, not as peaceful as expected.
Just had a little spontaneous 2 night stay, had a fully serviced pitch in a nice little cul de sac behind the main office.
A great location to explore from, no need to drive walking is good and Hawes village is just a 10 minute walk. The dog walk field is a good size but is overrun with rabbits, you can let your dog off lead be prepared for the chaos if your dog likes to chase.
Weather was sunny and we would have enjoyed sitting outside but the grass cutting was just never ending! It was going on when we arrived at 1pm and didn’t stop until late afternoon. Next morning at 9am it started again, the warden had no regard for people using their pitches and he quite literally cut around my husband who was trying to empty our grey waste, could he not have waited! We went out and came back after lunch still cutting grass, no peaceful country sounds just a very noisy petrol mower. The madness was the grass didn’t need cutting. I understand this has to happen but a bit of consideration wouldn’t go amiss. So unfortunately our stay wasn’t as relaxing as we had hoped for.
