Wind, snow and frozen pipes
We stayed for the first time on the Hawes site between 17th and 22nd March. We arrived just in time to meet the "beast from the east" which caused us a few problems with our water system. However, despite that we had a superb time walking in the surrounding hills, and exploring the charming village of Hawes. It is a magical place, and looked beautiful with the snow on the ground. Definitely worth another visit . . . . . but preferably in better weather.
By the way - the site staff were excellent, and managed to keep everything running despite the intense cold.

PS - The Creamery is well worth a visit.
