permanetly locked facilities is a pain

The site is a nice site, i read some reviews and they commented on the less than friendly reception, i wouldn't say it was unfriendly i think sometimes the staff are just a little brusk, it may be that they were busy. The site is ok, bit of a pain having to reverse in to the pitch as most of the sites i've been to have given you the alternative which way you faced. The Dog walking area is good and has clear paths marked which was handy. The main issue i had was that the toilets, showers, washrooms etc were all permanently lock and that is a problem when you are disabled, the doors are stiff and trying to juggle chair or stick will opening the door is not easy. The disabled facility is radar key and i'd forgotten mine which didn't help. Its not my favoriate site, i would go back but the locking of everything is a problem and i would have to think hard about going alone again.

The facility block will be locked, as they are on many sites, to prevent the public having access but it sounds as if there is a problem with heavy doors. I suggest you report this to the club unless you’ve spoken to the wardens about it.

You are permitted to pitch either way round and the diagram shown on the downloadable Hawes site plan makes this clear. (Note the text)

We stayed at Hawes site in June this year ,and do not think that any of the staff, were "abrupt  and it is not unusual on many sites to lock  to have to be locked that have problems with off site people useing the facilities, and as for the doors being stiff? my wife did not have any problems with the radar key fitted (on the majority of sites now)disabled room,if she had i would have been first to "assist" and advise the site staff (did you mention it?)

I don't have a radar key. My mobility had really deteriorated just before present holiday and was particularly bad on arrival at Trewethet (sp) site. The staff hapilly loaned me a key during my stay.
