Lovely Site

We spent 4 nights here in the middle of July and it's one of the best sites we've visited. We approached from the North West from the M6/A66 but note the road after Kirkby Stephen is tight in places so those with larger units should take care. It's situated well away from any roads (there's a minor B road that you access the site by) but you hear no traffic noise at. There is a working farm next door so you do hear tractors etc but is no way intrusive. On arrival we had a very friendly greeting from the warden on duty and given a map which the available pitches were highlighted so we could just choose our own. The wardens/site site do a wonderful job, very clean and well kept all throughout the site. Toilet/shower block is excellent and again is kept very clean (though disappointing that some people are unable to use a simple toilet brush). TV reception is poor so we hooked up to the aerial point on the pitch and the picture was perfect (they sell the cable made up in sufficient lengths at reception for £15). Mobile signal (EE) was good for us and had no issues there, good signal and 4G. Hawes is only 5-10 mins walk away so couldn't be in a better location and there you will find a good selection of tea rooms, cafes, fish and chips and pub/restaurants. Our particular favourite was the White Hart Inn but seems to be popular so I would recommend booking to ensure you get a table. The site is right on the Pennine Way so fantastic for walks based from there but there is always the rest of the whole Yorkshire Dales at your doorstep. Overall we couldn't fault this site, peace and tranquillity at it's best, we will definitely be back!
