A lovely welcome from the wardens who are great - and it was thanks to them that we were made aware of the work that meant no facilities before we arrived - lack of usual facilities should be highlighted on screen when booking. We have been here numerous times and will be back again, once there are facilities again. It was good however that the wardens had requested new disposal facilites by the water and bins for toilets. We had a lovely time however as usual with some new walks this holiday, as well as our usual visits to Wensleydale Cheese and the Green Dragon at Hardraw. Lovely to see the baby rabbits around the site with the ducks and pheasants! A shame the workmen played music though as this spoiled the usual peace and quiet - it wasn't too loud but they shouldn't be doing this when people are on site on holiday.
