I agree entirely with the speed bumps. My experience of club sites is that far too many people DO exceed the speed limit, (and not just when driving solo, many speed with caravans on the back and in motor homes) many by a significant margin and it's a problem that seems to be getting worse.
Incidentally, many of the speeders I have seen are middle aged or older, so it is not a problem restricted to younger drivers. Towing a caravan over a speed bump will do no harm at all - providing you are doing 5mph or less of course, and 5mph is after all the maximum speed on site.

Speed humps on caravan sites are very poorly designed. I drive around sites at 4mph but, in general, I slow for each ramp when towing so that the caravan just rolls over the crest. At 5 mph the caravan would bounce on departure from the hump.

The speed bumps are there for a reason to slow you down even if you have to nearly come to a halt when you cross them , it should be no problem . This for the safety of all site users which must have priority over saving a few seconds whilst driving on site. The 5 MPH is a maximum speed limit not a minimum !

why are they called speed bumps !!!so you slow your speed to go over them .every day you here the car slowing down then they go over the bump ,then you here the caravan bump over the bump !!do some people forget that they have a caravan on the back .have used the hawes site for years and do not have a problem with the speed bumps .if you cross them at the right speed then its not an issue .SLOW DOWN that's what they are there for .stop moaning about them they are there to do a job .

Can you please advise of this "law/regulation as where ever they are installed in this country the all seem different
But then it's a good spectacle watching he tow vehicle creep over the hump "forgeting?" the trailer or caravan or car which then take off with almost daylight before landing after the hump

The speed bumps are fine, just slow down and ease over them. They aren't particularly difficult to spot. More of a problem is how that curb sticks out on the roundabout in front of reception. Warden mentioned it to me. Don't know if they routinely do, as I saw several clip it.
