We have been staying on this site for many years and have always enjoyed our stay. The fishing is great in the nearby river and Hawes itself is a lovely place to visit. The site is clean apart from people who do not pick up their dog mess (of which there was quite a lot on this visit). We saw people reserving pitches often by placing their caravan equipment on the pitches etc and one woman even ran round with her dog bed and dog and stood on the pitch for 20 minutes even though there was a queue for people checking in! Children riding their bikes through the "Pawnine Way" refused to close the gates so if you did let your dog off the lead in the field, there was a risk of them running out. Unfortunately, on the first and last night we encountered noise from other members. Not just noise, but one family where phyically fighting, play football and screaming and shouting untill gone 11pm. The wardens were helpful, but I felt we shouldn't have to keep complaining to them. This is the first time in 20 years we have had to complain. The site has really changed this year. We hope our next visit will be better and the site back to what it was in previous years.
