First timers - Loved it!

It was with some trepidation that we made our first ever booking at Godrevy Park with our brand new (secondhand) motorhome. We've never really camped, never had a caravan and had only slept overnight in "the beast" once to try it... We needn't have worried- we had a lovely time at Godrevy Park and the operators could not possibly have been any more helpful- they really took the stress out of our first time and provided so much information for us. With no prior experiences to compare and contrast it is difficult to be objective. However, we found that the pitch was ideal, the connection and services worked as they should and it was lovely and peaceful- just what we wanted. The toilet and shower block was as good as we wanted and its difficult to imagine how it could be better. Warm, clean and nice! The chemical loo disposal point was a revelation to me- I had feared that part of it perhaps more than any other, but it was clean, efficient and hassle-free. I did have a lot of trouble trying to position the motorhome over the waste water outlet at the end of the stay- With the outlet at the back and limited turning room I had to reverse over it on the slant and me and the missus found it difficult to "communicate" effectively over that! :) The walk to the local beach and the surrounding areas was lovely- yes it can be quite a hike, but that was just fine for us, we didn't come expecting a resort with everything at fingertip reach. Nearest pub is 15 minutes walk away down a road with no pavements or lights- we didn't have a problem but people with more limited access or mobility might have trouble getting to the pub. The local surfers' café (licensed), 15-20 minute walk away, was well worth the trip- the breakfast was stunning and the views overlooking the bay made it a special time. We wanted to go back there for evening meal but found that you needed to book and it closes fairly early (circa 9pm IIRC). I wish we had booked, but at least we had the lovely breakfast. If you are looking for the Cornwall "experience" with peace and quiet and without the crowds this is the place for you. We loved it and we'll be back though hoping not to have to contend with near hurricane winds at 1am next time :) we stayed in August 2015
