Cornwall Delight!

Just finished a 7 night stay at Godrevy Park. The approach is excellent, although some care is needed, (as stated in the published directions), at the small double roundabout just after leaving the A30 as quite a few of the vehicles approaching seem to be unsure who has right-of-way! Even with the site being almost full we found a great pitch with plenty of space and good drainage on the sandy soil. The rear gate leads to the sand dunes just across the road, (be careful when crossing as it's on a corner), which are fantastic for walking your dog and very popular. If you take a route to the left there is one place when access to the part of the beach where dogs are allowed is possible and a lovely beach it is. The part of the beach on the right does not allow dogs on it until after 7.00pm in the evening during the summer. Take the lovely walk to Godrevy lighthouse for fantastic views and call in at the Godrevy cafe, (by the national trust car park), for a drink or snack, before walking home. If you develop more of a thirst then call at the Red River Inn at Gwithain on the way back. Although the facilities are well used, we found the showers etc always clean and plenty of hot water so well done wardens. This was our first visit to Godrevy but it won't be our last!!!
