We spent a very happy week at Gaer Hyfryd in early September. The main reason for our stay was to visit the nearby Bala Lake and Llangollen railways, but further afield we recommend Pistyll Rhaedr, which was spectacular despite recent dry weather. A short walk down a quiet lane takes you to the Rhug Estate complex on the A5, which does upmarket snacks and has a deli. The fully serviced pitch and decent wi-fi speed were much appreciated. It makes such a difference to a holiday when everything works. Lastly we want to mention the Site Manager, Billy. He is welcoming and always approachable and maintains the site to an impeccable standard.
