Think twice!
We had booked to stay 5 nights in August. The site is at the edge of Forfar, which definitely cannot be described as 'bustling'. Drab, dirty and run-down is a more suitable description. The pitches encircle a large grass area, on which the Club allow tents to be pitched, which means that they encroach on the grass space for the caravan/motorhome units. We did not like this idea at all, and to reach the facilities block, you had to walk through the middle of the tent area. Quite often there were dogs let to roam and run around off lead. Apart from check-in, the wardens were not visible at all, so there was no monitoring of site behaviour.
From the description, we thought that the site was within the country park - in fact it is fenced off from the children's playground area of the country park, so there was quite a bit of noise from the children and teen youths playing and shouting out.
The walk around the Loch is quite pleasant, nothing stunning, and not overly picturesque. There are a lot of cyclists that use the path so walkers need to be aware of this as they do not give way to pedestrians.
We cut our stay short because the area really had nothing to offer of interest, so we are unlikely to return.
