Excellent Site - Quiet and Peaceful

This was our third visit To Fairlight Wood, and we were very pleased to see the site has not changed. The facilities are excellent, with Serviced Pitches available (our preferred option), which makes for a very pleasant stay. The toilet and shower blocks are clean, well maintained, warm when the evenings and mornings are cold, and plenty of hot water in the shower. The surrounding area has much to offer with the site actually next door to a country park, in May the woods were full of beautiful bluebells, - I have never seen so many - they seemed to carpet the entire wood!.  There is loads around, with Hastings just a few miles away, Battle Abbey, Bodium Castle, Robertsbridge historic village, and a couple of vineyards are all within reach by car.  The Pett Levels are a short distance, and although not the prettiest beach (pebbles and little scenery) it is very peaceful, and a great place to sunbathe. There is a footpath from the back of the site through to the local pub, the Two Sawyers a lovely old pub serving excellent food, and a very friendly bar. The site itself is quite small, and is therefore very quiet and peaceful.  The wardens are very pleasant, friendly and helpful.  The TV reception can be flakey, a number of the aerial points could do with replacing - but the WiFi is top notch. Hastings itself has seen better days, but the old town is quite nice, and the shopping is OK. There is good access to local supermarkets, with Tesco Extra and the Co-op a c..  A word of warning, follow the directions in the CC book, if you take instructions from your SatNav, it will take you through some one track countrty roads, where there are limited passing places - not the best way to go with a caravan on the back.   We will be returning
