Good stopover but.......

If you have not been to Exeter Racecourse before it is as well you bear in mind that it has small and limited facilities, it is in a high, exposed place and as such is windy and, between two dual carriageways so noisy, too. There are only a few hard standings although the grass areas are very firm. But the real bugbear is that unless you have a car it is very difficult to get anywhere from here. Devonshire County Council in their wisdom will not allow an Exeter bound bus to stop near the site so you have to get one going in the opposite direction then change at Chudleigh to come back past the site and with year long roadworks in the City that transpires to be a one and a half hour journey!   Similarly a journey to Dawlish via Newton Abbott took two hours! We could have walked it in that time but it would mean wandering along busy and dangerous lanes.   I am writing to DCC to suggest a practical way in which they could allow Northbound buses to stop on the A38.  Don't hold your breath!
