Pleasant quiet site

Enjoyed our stay but not quite up to the standard usually enjoyed at Caravan Club Sites. Mainly grass pitches isnt very pleasent during heavy rain. The hard roads not wide enough to manouvere a 7.5m motorhome without running over boggy grass and using the pitch opposite. The motorhome waste is next to the bins so while running our waste off others were squeezing down the side of our motorhome to get to the bins. Other than that no probs. Enjoyed our stay.

OFF GRID

GOOD LOCATION, LOVELY VIEWS, AS ALWAYS HELPFULL WARDENS, WISH MORE SITES WOULD HAVE THE FACILITY TO NOT HOOK UP (ELECTRIC) ESPECIALLY FOR SHORT STAYS AS IS CHEAPER AND MAKES YOU CONSERVE ENERGY WITHOUT ANY DETRIMENT TO OUR STAY. BONUS OF A CAR BOOT ON THE SUNDAY

Peaceful and Welcoming

Brought our 2 grandchildren here for a week. They loved the freedom of the site. They walked and cycled miles around the racecourse. It is such a good location for South Devon and Cornwall - Exeter, Plymouth, Dawlish and Looe were just some of the places visited The two new wardens are lovely ladies and are trying very hard to improve the look of the site. Toilets and showers were always spotless. A favourite site for all of us

Extremely Peaceful Stopover Location

Myself and my family (2 adults 1 toddler), along with friends (2 adults and 2 children) stayed here for one night as a stopover rest on route to bude. It was very peaceful. The warden was a lovely lady and the shop went down a treat with my toddler for the 10p sweets! My husband and son went on bike ride around the racecourse. Lovely little location, nice and peaceful. The facilities were kept clean. There was a diner near by but we ate in the van, watched some tv then got a good nights rest before continuing our journey next morning.

Lovely Site

Have just stayed at Exeter Racecourse, its a lovely site with wonderful walks and good views from the pitches. The only problem was the showers very weak you needed to run around to get wet!  But on the whole we would definitely go back. Very friendly wardens.

Overnight Stopover

Stayed here on the way to Plymouth for the ferry - lovely welcome from the warders. American Diner across the road did a decent meal. Weather was absolutely atrocious and the warders were very kind in offering us the chance to stay for a bit longer as we had a fair wait for ferry - recommended.

Great Site

We stayed over for the night on the way down to Devon and Cornwall. Would like to to stay longer next time and explore. The site is lovely and clean and very handy for onward journeys. The American Diner across the road was great and worth a trip to.  Great site thanks!

Don`t Just Stay Overnight

Exeter Racecourse site is one that you could mistakenly think was good just for an overnight stop; perhaps on the way to your ferry in Plymouth or another site in Cornwall. Indeed it is but not exclusively so. We found it a perfect base to explore the region as far afield as Lyme Regis and as near as Exeter itself. There are many places of interest not too far away where you can while away the hours rain or shine. The site itself sit in the `v` between the A380 Torquay road and the A38 to Plymouth; but don`t let that put you off. They are both far enough away so as not to be intrusive and you are screened from them by Haldon Forest. Wherever you pitch you will have good views, some admittedly better than others. The only down side? Weak showers. They are spotlessly clean however.  If you can live with this then this site makes a super base from which to explore the area. See for yourselves.
