Good for families

Lovely site but has its downsides.

Stayed here for four nights on the way up to Scotland and it really is a lovely site. Immaculately kept by the wardens. Probably wouldn’t stay there again as we prefer a facilities block but it would be ok for 1 night. No play area so kids do not have anywhere to play apart from the central grassy area. Lots of seasonal pitches, the area we pitched had 8 hardstandings and 4 of those were seasonal. For some unknown reason the reception had very limited opening hours which made it difficult if you needed anything from the shop.

Probably due to staffing levels and working time directive. And yes a lovely site that I have not been to for a while

There were two wardens who have no facilities block to look after, they have grounds to manage, rubbish to remove and reception to run.  Reception was only open for three hours a day!  What they do for the rest of the time goodness knows.  I can’t think for a minute that they are breaching working time directive.

Do you know how many hours per week they are employed for? Until you establish that, you are not in a position to form an opinion.

I read your review en-route to this site yesterday and now that we have arrived I find your comments unjustified and quite hurtful to the hard working wardens on the site, if you look at the facilities listed on the CMC website for Englethwaite Hall it clearly states there are no toilet facilities or playground so how can you complain afterwards? This 15 acre club site is a beautiful, peaceful  and immaculately maintained, I for one understand the work involved in keeping such a large site in pristine condition. I hope in future you think carefully about which sites you choose and how hurtful review sites can be to hard working welcoming wardens.

If there are only two wardens on site then of course the issue of loan working must apply too along with WTD.
