Nicely laid out site but not peaceful at all

We stayed here for 4 nights to enjoy the Edinburgh Fringe and the Tattoo. The site is quite large on the edge of a housing estate, nearby there are loads of building works going on. As we arrived later in the day the only pitch available was right next to the perimeter fence which backed onto the road, this proved not to be a good selection. We noted that the pitch was quite scruffy with loads of weeds. Cramond Prom is a nearby walk, left out of the site, with a nice coffee shop. To get into Edinburgh there are two buses (16 & 27), bus stop is a 15 min walk through a footpath, OK in daylight but would not go in the dark. One day we walked through and there were gangs loitering doing 'some kind of business'??. The 27 bus is more direct whereas the 16 goes through Leith which is a lovely town and where Brittania is berthed. We took the last 27 bus at 23.40 after the Tattoo, the walk via the road to the site was pitch black so you need a torch! We felt the pitch fees for this site were extortionate, given that it's stuck at the back of a housing estate and the facilities were standard, we assume it's to take advantage of footfall for the Fringe/Tattoo. Added to that, it is not a peaceful site, planes fly over really low every few minutes landing at Edinburgh. This goes on all day til late, on some mornings they started again at 07.00. We had the added disadvantage as to our pitch position. If we were sitting out we could hear passer-bys conversations, the pavement was literally a few feet away. Then we had the joy of the boy racers who used the road outside as a substitute for Brands Hatch, this went on from late evening til about 03.00. Needless to say we were glad to move on from this site and would not return.
