Capital site

Just back from this site.  Fantastic site, clean, tidy, spotless toilets and showers also cosy which is essential for November.  Friendly staff. Ideally situated for Edinburgh, 10 minute walk to bus stop-£1.50 single takes you straight to Hanover St just off Princes St.  Across the road from the site is a shortcut down to the promenade, ideal for walking, safe for the kids and adults to cycle. Ideal cycle paths over the city. Lovely walk along the promenade to a lovely pub in nearby village of Cramond. We'll definitely come again

Great site but on Flightpath

One of the better sites we have stayed in Good clean Toilets/Showers. Only comment Planes can be very noisy and seem to operate almost 24/7

Good site

Good club site but under the flight path so it is noisey at times . We were also disturbed by other carvaners leaving at 4.30-5am on a few occasions not good when you are on a holiday break ! May I suggest club could have departures only between 7am and 11pm so as others are not disturbed ? Staff were friendly and Well informed shower block and facilities well maintained well run site overall

Great site

Our first time in Scotland and a great site, good facilities and very helpful wardens. O Found the local bus service into Edinburgh which was cheap to use and ran on time, only 20 minute walk from the site.  Over the road from the site a hidden pathway down to the sea. Didn't realise the planes came into land at the airport nearby so could be noisey at night and early morning, but didn't spoil our time here. Will definitely come back as Edinburgh has so much to see and do - thank you

Great site, ideally located for city centre

Just returned from our second visit to this site.  It really is a credit to the wardens who have obviously worked hard to create a great site.  It is a shining example of how toilet and shower blocks can be kept wonderfully clean. The site is ideally situated for trips into Edinburgh. We used the local bus on a number of occasions and have to agree that it is quite a walk for tired legs, but a bargain at £8.50 for a family return ticket. There is some traffic and aircraft noise but we became immune to it after a couple of days. Would definitely return to this site as there is still so much to see and do in and around the Edinburgh area.

A very impressive site

This is a large and as you would expect, an immaculately kept site. Our pitch needed no levelling and there were two clean and warm toilet blocks with water and all other facilities easily accessed. Reception was fantastic. Provided maps for Edinburgh and advice for transport (£3 return on the number 27 just at the end of Marine drive!) Please note you can arrive from 9am. We did not know this and so hung around until 12 noon instead of enjoying the sites of Edinburgh. Hope you enjoy this site as much as we did!

Brilliant for city visit

We stayed 3 nights during Oct half term, just 2 of us in Motorhome. For a city site it is peaceful, lots of squirrels and yes airport noise but the flights are daytime not during the night and didn't cause us an issue. We went into Edinburgh on the 27 bus £3 ea return one day then to the Royal Yacht Britannia the next on the 16 bus again same cost. The site is very well maintained and very clean, the only reason for me dropping a star was due to site users not respecting others and helping to keep the toilets clean. PLEASE if you send your children into the toilets alone make sure they know how to flush and do so. Its not nice to find them dirty and certainly not fair on the cleaners. Never mind if they wash their hands or not! On the whole excellent site for visiting Edinburgh with very helpful friendly staff.

Excellent site

We enjoyed a great week here over October half term. The is very well located for visiting Edinburgh by bus (number 27 costs £8.50 for a family of 5 for unlimited travel) and bracing walks along the Firth of Forth. The facilities are spotless and the whole site is immaculate. After reading reviews mentioning road and aircraft noise, we deliberately chose a pitch towards the back of the site and did not experience any disruption. There were only two slight negatives (and they are only slight) to report. One was the location of the bus stop. A 15 minute walk was a bit too much for our children after a long day sightseeing in Edinburgh. There is a 'door to door' service from the site but as there are five of us, the price was £24.00 return. There is a disused bus stop close to the site entrance but unfortunately, buses no longer go past it. The other was that the play area was rather basic. I appreciate that members visiting major cities like Edinburgh probably spend more time off the site than on it but it still attracts a good number of children who would make good use of it. In summary though, a great site and we will return.

worth staying

We stayed for one week in December 2014 (and it snowed!!!) Situated at the end of a housing estate on the way to the sea and in the flight path for the airport (so some noise at times) It was still a great site Knowledgeable staff, clean facilities,  chip van visits, can book a taxi (small bus) from the site into Edinburgh at a reasonable price and return back to site close enough to the supermarkets, town, sea and family pubs what a gem

I love Edinburgh!

Stayed for just two nights at this fantastic site, would have loved to have stayed longer. Warden really helpful and welcoming, the first night we chose a pitch along the road, big mistake, lots of road noise, so we moved the next day, it is also on the flight path to Edinburgh Airport, this wasn't really a problem for us as most of the flights are done by 11pm. A great city awaits just 4 miles away, number 27 bus runs every 10 mins about 15 min walk from the site. All in all just a great place to visit, we'll be back!
