We had three nights here to visit Durham and Beamish on our way home in the south from Scotland. We couldn't fault the site: very helpful wardens, immaculate toilet block and well-kept pitches. So handy for Durham with the park-and-ride very close (walkable, but we took our motorhome to avoid having to cross the dual-carriageway (free to 'oldies' like us!). Also handy for Beamish (highly recommended) and other local attractions.We didn't realise there was a 'noise problem' until we read other reviews - we didn't even notice it! don't let this put you off a great site.
