The wardens were very nice. The toilets and shower immaculate. The grass and pitches kept to a high standard. Easy to visit Durham and Beamish. BUT the traffic noise is horrendous. This site is within a couple of hundred metres of the A1 and A690. The traffic noise is 24/7 from these major roads. We had great hot and sunny weather during our stay but it wasn't relaxing to sit outside the caravan due to the road noise. A great site for anyone travelling north or south as an overnight stop. A great site to visit Durham or Beamish. BUT not a site where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet sitting in the sun outside the van. It's just too close to the A1. Go knowing this and it's ok. Go for peace and quiet and disappointment awaits.
