Lovely site, well worth a visit
A place we will definitely visit again. Friendly wardens, site well maintained, facilities spotless. Also a great location for Beamish and other destinations.
Yes you can hear the traffic but it didn’t spoil anything for us and it was perfectly fine to sit outside and relax or read. (Speaking as someone who can easily get upset at excessive noise I don’t say this lightly!)
I think some reviews are a bit harsh in this respect, which I feel is unfair when all other aspects of the site are to such a high standard.
