Great Site for Visiting Durham or Touring North East

Usual pleasant welcome from friendly and helpful warden. This site is very clean and well kept with what appeared to be a very good childrens playground. The site is surrounded by some fields with, at this time of year, sheep and lambs also plenty of trees with birds singing. However, there is road noise, which actually never really ceases even at night. However, as we all used some sort of map to find our way to the site, it is fairly obvious that the site is geographically close to the A1 M and the very busy dual carriage way into Durham. So fair to say, expect some noise! We took the wardens advice not to walk to the Park & Ride because of the busy dual carriageway. We chose to drive our motorhome the three days we went into Durham. There are no height barriers, six motorhome/caravan bays and there is generally plenty of room. This is a great site for seeing Durham and also touring the surrounding area. It would also make a handy over night stop if travelling north/south because of its close proximity to the motorway links. We would definitely return to this great site.
