We took the two grandchildren for a six day treat. (2&4 ) we were located on a S.P. site next to the play area which was handy. The site was almost full for the whole period. The great North run was being held in nearby Newcastle, in which the children's parents and their brother were participating in. This site was handy and easily located off the A 1(M). We found Beamish open air museum a 40 minuets drive away kids loved it. Nearby Durham has some extensive road works at present so we avoided going in, although a Park & ride is near the site. Facilities on site were v.g. limited purchases available at reception. One point on the down side is the road noise almost continuous throughout. But we shall return a some stage.
