We used this site as a stopover on our way down to Norfolk. It is perfectly placed, just off the A1M, as a mid-point for any travellers from Scotland. The site is level with good sized pitches. The toilets are of a very high standard (as you'd expect). There may be some background noise from the motorway but this is not intrusive and we hardly noticed it. There is a good sized kids play area at the top of the site and if you're a dog owner, a short walk from the site takes you down a lane, across a couple of fields and down to the river from where, if you're energetic enough, you can walk the 3 miles into the city. For the less mobile the Park&Ride is only 5 minutes away just over the motorway and at only £2 return is fantastic value. Durham is a gem of a visitor attraction and should not be missed. We'll definitely use this site again - and again.
