Just returned from a fabulous stay at dornafield. It wowed us when we turned the corner and saw the beautiful house stood by the entrance. On arriving- cannot wish for a warmer welcome from the staff. So helpful and pleasant throughout our stay and we were on pitch 45 in buttermeadow and the wardens down by the dog walk were so informative about the wildlife and info on and around the site. The shop was wonderfully stocked, papers could be ordered daily before 5pm. Info was always available around the area and discount vouchers attached to the back of the site plan for use at pubs/local attractions . Pitches were superb with loads of room. They had water, waste and even your own shared bin between 2 pitches which was even emptied by the wardens when you displayed your "full" disc to let them know it was ready. The special touches were on the dog walk with a foot brush cleaner by the entrance/exit for any mud on your shoes and even doggy bags supplied on the gate post for "just in case" anyone had forget theirs. The lane is quite narrow down to the park but accessible with pull in places on either sides- however i'm glad for the strict ruling at off by 11am and arrival after 12pm. So sensible. There is a walk to 2 different pubs- both around 3/4 mile in opposite directions from the site but nothing surrounds the site exept glorious peacefulness with deer, badges and wonderful wildlife. Fantastic play area if anyone has small kids. Lovely showers and loo block immaculately kept at all times. Cant rave about this site, staff & facilities enough. Thanks everyone at dornafield for making us feel so welcome and we really enjoyed our stay. We will see you all soon.
Lovely Campsite
What a beautiful site, peacefull, lovely layout and very friendly wardens. The toilet and shower facilities are great, very clean and smart. For food we found the Union Inn excellent, just 3/4 mile up the road in Denbury, although the Two Mile Oak, down the road towards the main road was also acceptable. Both are dog friendly and serve real ale, which is always a bonus!
